NYC is my Bitch is a personal site about New York City. This page says what we collect, where it sits, and how to ask us to take something down. It is a description of how the site works today. It is not legal advice.
Who runs this
The site is run from a private server at nycismybitch.com. Questions go through the Contact page.
What we collect
Only what you type into a form:
- Stories. A name and the text you post. That post is public on the Stories page.
- Contact. A name, email address, topic, and message. Those messages are stored on this server. They are not shown on the site.
The homepage counter stores a visit number. It does not store your name, email, or a profile.
What we do not collect
- No accounts or passwords.
- No payments or shop checkout. Merch is not for sale yet.
- No photo uploads from visitors.
- No mailing list.
- No advertising trackers that we added.
Where it is stored
Stories and contact messages are saved as files on the same computer that runs the website. We do not sell that information. We do not hand it to marketers. We may read a contact message so we can answer it, and we may remove a public story if it is abusive, illegal, or does not belong here.
Your browser
The site may save the theme song position in your browser so the track can pick up on the next page. That stays on your device. We do not use it to identify you.
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Google has its own privacy policy for that request.
Links off this site
Footer links go to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. Event listings may link to ticket pages we do not control. Those sites have their own rules.
Kids
This site is written for adults. Some event listings are family-friendly. Do not submit a child's name, email, or other personal information through Stories or Contact.
Take something down
If you posted a story and want it removed, use Contact and tell us the name and enough of the text to find it. If you sent a private message and want it deleted, say so there too.
Changes
If the site starts collecting something new, this page should change. Check the date at the top.
